NICE TO MEET YOU!

It's great to have you here. I started this blog to share my love for cooking bold, comforting vegetarian food — the kind that’s simple to make, but never boring. I’m here to help you do the same. Keep on reading to know more about me and how we can go on this journey together!

Let me quickly introduce myself, I’m Vedanti, or V for short — the heart and hands behind Mamma’s Flavors! I’m a lifetime vegetarian, self-taught cook, and a passionate foodie showing you how to make simple, delicious, and soulful vegetarian meals inspired by my mother's flavors and from cuisines around the world. I also share other vegetarian-related articles related to travel, lifestyle and more. 

Cooking is about more than just making food for me — it’s about storytelling, connection and celebrating the vibrant flavors that bring us together. 

Growing up, our home was filled with the irresistible aromas and beautiful tapestry of diverse flavors from my mom’s cooking. She had this magical ability to take the simplest ingredients and turn them into unforgettable meals. Every meal she made wasn’t just food; it was an experience — one that made you pause, savor, and feel at home. Not only that, she was known in our community as “the lady who can cook anything and everything”. Food wasn’t just nourishment in our house; it was an act of love, a way to bring people together and to create memories. This is what has shaped my love and passion for food and cooking.

That love for food turned into something of an obsession for me. I don’t just eat—I analyze. Before I step foot in a restaurant, I’ve already scoured the menu, read reviews, and am ready to place my order. And when I try a new dish? You’ll find me dissecting every ingredient, guessing spices like I’m on some food detective show. I’ll then try to recreate the recipes at home. I truly believe that every bite tells a story, and I’m here to help you tell yours through incredible, flavorful vegetarian meals.

Why Mamma's Flavors?

In 2023, my family and I faced one of the hardest moments of our lives when my wonderful mom passed away from cancer. Her love, warmth, and passion for cooking left an everlasting mark on me. Mamma’s Flavors was born out of my deep desire to honor her legacy—to keep her recipes, love, and incredible flavors alive, and to share them with the world. This blog is my way of passing down the traditions, the warmth, and the joy that my mother infused into every meal.

Through Mamma’s Flavors, I want to inspire you to explore the world of vegetarian cooking—not as a challenge, but as a way for you to embrace a world of bold, comforting, and nourishing flavors. Whether you’re a seasoned vegetarian or just dipping your toes into the meatless world, I’m here to make it fun, easy, and tasty!
